Surat al-A'laa · The Most High

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1

   سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى ۝١ayah 1

   Praise the Name of your Lord, the Most High.

2. 2

   ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ۝٢ayah 2

   He who creates and regulates.

3. 3

   وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ ۝٣ayah 3

   He who measures and guides.

4. 4

   وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ ۝٤ayah 4

   He who produces the pasture.

5. 5

   فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ ۝٥ayah 5

   And then turns it into light debris.

6. 6

   سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ ۝٦ayah 6

   We will make you read, so do not forget.

7. 7

   إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ ۝٧ayah 7

   Except what Allah wills. He knows what is declared, and what is hidden.

8. 8

   وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ۝٨ayah 8

   We will ease you into the Easy Way.

9. 9

   فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ۝٩ayah 9

   So remind, if reminding helps.

10. 10

    سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ ۝١٠ayah 10

    The reverent will remember.

11. 11

    وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى ۝١١ayah 11

    But the wretched will avoid it.

12. 12

    ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ۝١٢ayah 12

    He who will enter the Gigantic Fire.

13. 13

    ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ ۝١٣ayah 13

    Where he will neither die, nor live.

14. 14

    قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ ۝١٤ayah 14

    Successful is he who purifies himself.

15. 15

    وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ ۝١٥ayah 15

    And mentions the name of his Lord, and prays.

16. 16p. 592

    بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۝١٦ayah 16

    But you prefer the present life.

17. 17

    وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ۝١٧ayah 17

    Though the Hereafter is better, and more lasting.

18. 18

    إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۝١٨ayah 18

    This is in the former scriptures.

19. 19

    صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ ۝١٩ayah 19

    The Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
