Surat al-Inshiqaaq · The Splitting Open

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1

   إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ ۝١ayah 1

   When the sky is ruptured.

2. 2

   وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ۝٢ayah 2

   And hearkens to its Lord, as it must.

3. 3

   وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ ۝٣ayah 3

   And when the earth is leveled out.

4. 4

   وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ ۝٤ayah 4

   And casts out what is in it, and becomes empty.

5. 5

   وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ۝٥ayah 5

   And hearkens to its Lord, as it must.

6. 6

   يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ ۝٦ayah 6

   O man! You are laboring towards your Lord, and you will meet Him.

7. 7

   فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ۝٧ayah 7

   As for him who is given his book in his right hand.

8. 8

   فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا ۝٨ayah 8

   He will have an easy settlement.

9. 9

   وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا ۝٩ayah 9

   And will return to his family delighted.

10. 10

    وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ ۝١٠ayah 10

    But as for him who is given his book behind his back.

11. 11

    فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا ۝١١ayah 11

    He will call for death.

12. 12

    وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا ۝١٢ayah 12

    And will enter the Blaze.

13. 13

    إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا ۝١٣ayah 13

    He used to be happy among his family.

14. 14

    إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ ۝١٤ayah 14

    He thought he would never return.

15. 15

    بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا ۝١٥ayah 15

    In fact, his Lord was watching him.

16. 16

    فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ ۝١٦ayah 16

    I swear by the twilight.

17. 17

    وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ ۝١٧ayah 17

    And by the night, and what it covers.

18. 18

    وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ ۝١٨ayah 18

    And by the moon, as it grows full.

19. 19

    لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ ۝١٩ayah 19

    You will mount stage by stage.

20. 20

    فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ۝٢٠ayah 20

    What is the matter with them that they do not believe?

21. 21

    وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ ۝٢١ayah 21

    ۩ Prostration of recitation (sajdat at-tilawah)

    And when the Quran is read to them, they do not bow down?

22. 22

    بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٢٢ayah 22

    In fact, those who disbelieve are in denial.

23. 23

    وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ ۝٢٣ayah 23

    But Allah knows what they hide inside.

24. 24

    فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ۝٢٤ayah 24

    So inform them of a painful punishment.

25. 25

    إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ ۝٢٥ayah 25

    Except those who believe and do good deeds; they will have an undiminished reward.
