Surat ash-Shams · The Sun

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1p. 595

   وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ۝١ayah 1

   By the sun and its radiance.

2. 2

   وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ۝٢ayah 2

   And the moon as it follows it.

3. 3

   وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ۝٣ayah 3

   And the day as it reveals it.

4. 4

   وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا ۝٤ayah 4

   And the night as it conceals it.

5. 5

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ۝٥ayah 5

   And the sky and He who built it.

6. 6

   وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ۝٦ayah 6

   And the earth and He who spread it.

7. 7

   وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ۝٧ayah 7

   And the soul and He who proportioned it.

8. 8

   فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا ۝٨ayah 8

   And inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness.

9. 9

   قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ۝٩ayah 9

   Successful is he who purifies it.

10. 10

    وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ۝١٠ayah 10

    Failing is he who corrupts it.

11. 11

    كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ ۝١١ayah 11

    Thamood denied in its pride.

12. 12

    إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا ۝١٢ayah 12

    When it followed its most wicked.

13. 13

    فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا ۝١٣ayah 13

    The messenger of Allah said to them, “This is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink.”

14. 14

    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ۝١٤ayah 14

    But they called him a liar, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled it.

15. 15

    وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا ۝١٥ayah 15

    And He does not fear its sequel.
