بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ ayah 1
When the inevitable occurs.
لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ayah 2
Of its occurrence, there is no denial.
خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ ayah 3
Bringing low, raising high.
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّا ayah 4
When the earth is shaken with a shock.
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّا ayah 5
And the mountains are crushed and crumbled.
فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءً مُّنۢبَثًّا ayah 6
And they become scattered dust.
وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ثَلَـٰثَةً ayah 7
And you become three classes.
فَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ ayah 8
Those on the Right—what of those on the Right?
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ ayah 9
And those on the Left—what of those on the Left?
وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ayah 10
And the forerunners, the forerunners.
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ayah 11
Those are the nearest.
فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ayah 12
In the Gardens of Bliss.
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ayah 13
A throng from the ancients.
وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ ayah 14
And a small band from the latecomers.
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ ayah 15
On luxurious furnishings.
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَـٰبِلِينَ ayah 16
Reclining on them, facing one another.

يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ ayah 17
Serving them will be immortalized youth.
بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ ayah 18
With cups, pitchers, and sparkling drinks.
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ ayah 19
Causing them neither headache, nor intoxication.
وَفَـٰكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ayah 20
And fruits of their choice.
وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ayah 21
And meat of birds that they may desire.
وَحُورٌ عِينٌ ayah 22
And lovely companions.
كَأَمْثَـٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ ayah 23
The likenesses of treasured pearls.
جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ayah 24
As a reward for what they used to do.
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا ayah 25
Therein they will hear no nonsense, and no accusations.
إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَـٰمًا سَلَـٰمًا ayah 26
But only the greeting: “Peace, peace.”
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ ayah 27
And those on the Right—what of those on the Right?
فِى سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ ayah 28
In lush orchards.
وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ ayah 29
And sweet-smelling plants.
وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ ayah 30
And extended shade.
وَمَآءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ ayah 31
And outpouring water.
وَفَـٰكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ayah 32
And abundant fruit.
لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ ayah 33
Neither withheld, nor forbidden.
وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ ayah 34
And uplifted mattresses.
إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءً ayah 35
We have created them of special creation.
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا ayah 36
And made them virgins.
عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا ayah 37
Tender and un-aging.
لِّأَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ayah 38
For those on the Right.
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ayah 39
A throng from the ancients.
وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ ayah 40
And a throng from the latecomers.
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ ayah 41
And those on the Left—what of those on the Left?
فِى سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ ayah 42
Amid searing wind and boiling water.
وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ ayah 43
And a shadow of thick smoke.
لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ ayah 44
Neither cool, nor refreshing.
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ ayah 45
They had lived before that in luxury.
وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ayah 46
And they used to persist in immense wrongdoing.
وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ayah 47
And they used to say, “When we are dead and turned into dust and bones, are we to be resurrected?
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ayah 48
And our ancient ancestors too?”
قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ ayah 49
Say, “The first and the last.
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ayah 50
Will be gathered for the appointment of a familiar Day.”

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ ayah 51
Then you, you misguided, who deny the truth.
لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ ayah 52
Will be eating from the Tree of Bitterness.
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ ayah 53
Will be filling your bellies with it.
فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ ayah 54
Will be drinking on top of it boiling water.
فَشَـٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ ayah 55
Drinking like thirsty camels drink.
هَـٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ayah 56
That is their hospitality on the Day of Retribution.
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ ayah 57
We created you—if only you would believe!
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ ayah 58
Have you seen what you ejaculate?
ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ ayah 59
Is it you who create it, or are We the Creator?
نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ ayah 60
We have decreed death among you, and We will not be outstripped.
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَـٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ayah 61
In replacing you with your likes, and transforming you into what you do not know.
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ayah 62
You have known the first formation; if only you would remember.
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ ayah 63
Have you seen what you cultivate?
ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ ayah 64
Is it you who make it grow, or are We the Grower?
لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ حُطَـٰمًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ ayah 65
If We will, We can turn it into rubble; then you will lament.
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ ayah 66
“We are penalized.
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ ayah 67
No, we are being deprived.”
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ ayah 68
Have you seen the water you drink?
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ ayah 69
Is it you who sent it down from the clouds, or are We the Sender?
لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ ayah 70
If We will, We can make it salty. Will you not be thankful?
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ ayah 71
Have you seen the fire you kindle?
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ ayah 72
Is it you who produce its tree, or are We the Producer?
نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَـٰهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَـٰعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ ayah 73
We have made it a reminder, and a comfort for the users.
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ayah 74
So glorify the Name of your Great Lord.
۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ ayah 75
I swear by the locations of the stars.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ ayah 76
It is an oath, if you only knew, that is tremendous.

إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌ كَرِيمٌ ayah 77
It is a noble Quran.
فِى كِتَـٰبٍ مَّكْنُونٍ ayah 78
In a well-protected Book.
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ ayah 79
None can grasp it except the purified.
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 80
A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
أَفَبِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ ayah 81
Is it this discourse that you take so lightly?
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ ayah 82
And you make it your livelihood to deny it?
فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ ayah 83
So when it has reached the throat.
وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ ayah 84
As you are looking on.
وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ ayah 85
We are nearer to it than you are, but you do not see.
فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ ayah 86
If you are not held to account.
تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ ayah 87
Then bring it back, if you are truthful.
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ayah 88
But if he is one of those brought near.
فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ ayah 89
Then happiness, and flowers, and Garden of Delights.
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ayah 90
And if he is one of those on the Right.
فَسَلَـٰمٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ayah 91
Then, “Peace upon you,” from those on the Right.
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ayah 92
But if he is one of the deniers, the mistaken.
فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ ayah 93
Then a welcome of Inferno.
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ ayah 94
And burning in Hell.
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ ayah 95
This is the certain truth.
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ayah 96
So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Magnificent
