بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

طسٓمٓ ayah 1
Ta, Seen, Meem.
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ayah 2
These are the Verses of the Clarifying Book.
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ ayah 3
Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief, because they do not become believers.
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ ayah 4
If We will, We can send down upon them a sign from heaven, at which their necks will stay bent in humility.
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ ayah 5
No fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, but they turn their backs at it.
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ayah 6
They have denied the truth, but soon will come to them the news of what they ridiculed.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ ayah 7
Have they not seen the earth, and how many beautiful pairs We produced therein?
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 8
Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 9
Most surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ayah 10
Your Lord called to Moses, “Go to the tyrannical people.
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ ayah 11
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear?”
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ ayah 12
He said, “My Lord, I fear they will reject me.
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ ayah 13
And I become stressed, and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron too.
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ ayah 14
And they have a charge against me, so I fear they will kill me.”
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ ayah 15
He said, “No. Go, both of you, with Our proofs. We will be with you, listening.
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 16
Go to Pharaoh, and say, ‘We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Worlds.
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ayah 17
Let the Children of Israel go with us.'“
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ ayah 18
He said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed among us for many of your years?
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ayah 19
And you committed that deed you committed, and you were ungrateful.”

قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ayah 20
He said, “I did it then, when I was of those astray.
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ayah 21
And I fled from you when I feared you; but my Lord gave me wisdom, and made me one of the messengers.
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ayah 22
Is that the favor you taunt me with, although you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 23
Pharaoh said, “And what is the Lord of the Worlds?”
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ayah 24
He said, “The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, if you are aware.”
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ ayah 25
He said to those around him, “Do you not hear?”
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ayah 26
He said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of old.”
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ ayah 27
He said, “This messenger of yours, who is sent to you, is crazy.”
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ayah 28
He said, “Lord of the East and the West, and everything between them, if you understand.”
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ ayah 29
He said, “If you accept any god other than me, I will make you a prisoner.”
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ ayah 30
He said, “What if I bring you something convincing?”
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ayah 31
He said, “Bring it, if you are being truthful.”
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ ayah 32
So he cast his staff; and it was a serpent, plain to see.
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ ayah 33
And he pulled his hand; and it was white, for all to see.
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ayah 34
He said to the dignitaries around him, “This is a skilled magician.
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ ayah 35
He intends to drive you out of your land with his magic, so what do you recommend?”
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ayah 36
They said, “Delay him and his brother, and send recruiters to the cities.
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ ayah 37
To bring you every experienced magician.”
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ayah 38
So the magicians were gathered for the appointment on a specified day.
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ ayah 39
And it was said to the people, “Are you all gathered?

لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ayah 40
That we may follow the magicians, if they are the winners.”
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ayah 41
When the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, “Is there a reward for us, if we are the winners?”
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ayah 42
He said, “Yes, and you will be among those favored.”
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ ayah 43
Moses said to them, “Present what you intend to present.”
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ ayah 44
So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said, “By the majesty of Pharaoh, we will be the winners.”
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ayah 45
Then Moses threw his staff, and behold, it began swallowing their trickery.
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ ayah 46
And the magicians fell down prostrating.
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 47
They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the Worlds.
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ayah 48
The Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ayah 49
He said, “Did you believe in Him before I have given you permission? He must be your chief, who taught you magic. You will soon know. I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.”
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ayah 50
They said, “No problem. To our Lord we will return.
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ayah 51
We are eager for our Lord to forgive us our sins, since we are the first of the believers.”
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ayah 52
And We inspired Moses: “Travel with My servants by night. You will be followed.”
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ayah 53
Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities.
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ ayah 54
“These are a small gang.
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ ayah 55
And they are enraging us.
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ ayah 56
But we are a vigilant multitude.”
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ayah 57
So We drove them out of gardens and springs.
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ ayah 58
And treasures and noble dwellings.
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ayah 59
So it was. And We made the Children of Israel inherit them.
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ ayah 60
And they pursued them at sunrise.

فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ ayah 61
When the two groups sighted each other, the followers of Moses said, “We are being overtaken.”
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ ayah 62
He said, “No; my Lord is with me, He will guide me.”
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ayah 63
We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff.” Whereupon it parted, and each part was like a huge hill.
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ ayah 64
And there We brought the others near.
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ayah 65
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ ayah 66
Then We drowned the others.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 67
In that there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 68
Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ayah 69
And relate to them the story of Abraham.
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ ayah 70
When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ ayah 71
They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.”
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ ayah 72
He said, “Do they hear you when you pray?
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ ayah 73
Or do they benefit you, or harm you?”
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ ayah 74
They said, “But we found our ancestors doing so.”
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ayah 75
He said, “Have you considered what you worship.
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ ayah 76
You and your ancient ancestors?
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 77
They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds.
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ ayah 78
He who created me, and guides me.
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ ayah 79
He who feeds me, and waters me.
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ ayah 80
And when I get sick, He heals me.
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ ayah 81
He who makes me die, and then revives me.
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ayah 82
He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning.”
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ayah 83
“My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.

وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ ayah 84
And give me a reputation of truth among the others.
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ayah 85
And make me of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ayah 86
And forgive my father—he was one of the misguided.
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ ayah 87
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected.
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ ayah 88
The Day when neither wealth nor children will help.
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ ayah 89
Except for him who comes to Allah with a sound heart.”
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ayah 90
And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous.
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ ayah 91
And the Blaze will be displayed to the deviators.
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ayah 92
And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship?”
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ ayah 93
Besides Allah? Can they help you, or help themselves?”
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ayah 94
Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers.
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ ayah 95
And the soldiers of Satan, all of them.
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ ayah 96
They will say, as they feud in it.
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ayah 97
“By Allah, We were in evident error.
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 98
For equating you with the Lord of the Worlds.
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ayah 99
No one misled us except the sinners.
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ ayah 100
Now we have no intercessors.
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ ayah 101
And no sincere friend.
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ayah 102
If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.”
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 103
Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 104
Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ayah 105
The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ayah 106
Their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ayah 107
I am to you a faithful messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 108
So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 109
I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 110
So fear Allah, and obey me.”
۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ ayah 111
They said, “Shall we believe in you, when it is the lowliest who follow you?”

قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ayah 112
He said, “What do I know about what they do?
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ ayah 113
Their account rests only with my Lord, if you have sense.
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ayah 114
And I am not about to drive away the believers.
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ayah 115
I am only a clear warner.”
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ ayah 116
They said, “If you do not refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned.”
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ ayah 117
He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ayah 118
So judge between me and them decisively, and deliver me and the believers who are with me.
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ayah 119
So We delivered him and those with him in the laden Ark.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ ayah 120
Then We drowned the rest.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 121
In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 122
Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ayah 123
Aad disbelieved the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ayah 124
When their brother Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ayah 125
I am to you a faithful messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 126
So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 127
I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ ayah 128
Do you build a monument on every height for vanity's sake?
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ ayah 129
And you set up fortresses, hoping to live forever?
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ ayah 130
And when you strike, you strike mercilessly?
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 131
So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ ayah 132
And reverence Him, who supplied you with everything you know.
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ ayah 133
He supplied you with livestock and children.
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ayah 134
And gardens and springs.
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ayah 135
I fear for you the punishment of an awesome Day.”
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ ayah 136
They said, “It is the same for us, whether you lecture us, or do not lecture.

إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ayah 137
This is nothing but morals of the ancients.
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ayah 138
And we will not be punished.”
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 139
So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 140
Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ayah 141
Thamood disbelieved the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ayah 142
When their brother Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ayah 143
I am to you a faithful messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 144
So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 145
I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ ayah 146
Will you be left secure in what is here?
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ayah 147
In gardens and springs?
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ ayah 148
And fields, and palm-trees whose fruits are delicious?
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ ayah 149
And you skillfully carve houses in the mountains?
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 150
So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ayah 151
And do not obey the command of the extravagant.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ ayah 152
Who spread turmoil on earth, and do not reform.”
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ayah 153
They said, “You are surely one of the bewitched.
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ayah 154
You are nothing but a man like us. So bring us a sign, if you are truthful.
قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ayah 155
He said, “This is a she-camel; she has her turn of drinking, and you have your turn of drinking—on a specified day.
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ayah 156
And do not touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a great day seizes you.”
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ ayah 157
But they slaughtered her, and became full of remorse.
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 158
So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 159
Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ayah 160
The people of Lot disbelieved the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ayah 161
When their brother Lot said to them, “Do you not fear?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ayah 162
I am to you a faithful messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 163
So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 164
I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 165
Do you approach the males of the world?
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ ayah 166
And forsake the wives your Lord created for you? Indeed, you are intrusive people.”
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ ayah 167
They said, “Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be expelled.”
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ ayah 168
He said, “I certainly deplore your conduct.”
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ ayah 169
“My Lord, save me and my family from what they do.”
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ayah 170
So We saved him and his family, altogether.
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ ayah 171
Except for an old woman among those who tarried.
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ ayah 172
Then We destroyed the others.
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ayah 173
And We rained down on them a rain. Dreadful is the rain of those forewarned.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 174
Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 175
Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ayah 176
The People of the Woods disbelieved the messengers.
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ayah 177
When Shuaib said to them, “Do you not fear?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ayah 178
I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ayah 179
So fear Allah, and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 180
I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ ayah 181
Give full measure, and do not cheat.
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ayah 182
And weigh with accurate scales.
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ayah 183
And do not defraud people of their belongings, and do not work corruption in the land.

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ayah 184
And fear Him who created you and the masses of old.”
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ayah 185
They said, “You are one of those bewitched.
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ayah 186
And you are nothing but a man like us; and we think that you are a liar.
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ayah 187
So bring down on us pieces from the sky, if you are truthful.”
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ayah 188
He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.”
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ayah 189
But they denied him. So the punishment of the day of gloom gripped them. It was the punishment of a great day.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ayah 190
Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ayah 191
Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ayah 192
It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ ayah 193
The Honest Spirit came down with it.
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ ayah 194
Upon your heart, that you may be one of the warners.
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ ayah 195
In a clear Arabic tongue.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ayah 196
And it is in the scriptures of the ancients.
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ayah 197
Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel recognized it?
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ ayah 198
Had We revealed it to one of the foreigners.
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ ayah 199
And he had recited it to them, they still would not have believed in it.
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ayah 200
Thus We make it pass through the hearts of the guilty.
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ ayah 201
They will not believe in it until they witness the painful punishment.
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ayah 202
It will come to them suddenly, while they are unaware.
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ ayah 203
Then they will say, “Are we given any respite?”
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ayah 204
Do they seek to hasten Our punishment?
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ ayah 205
Have you considered: if We let them enjoy themselves for some years.
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ ayah 206
Then there comes to them what they were promised.

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ ayah 207
Of what avail to them will be their past enjoyments?
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ ayah 208
Never did We destroy a town, but it had warners.
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ ayah 209
As a reminder—We are never unjust.
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ayah 210
It was not the devils that revealed it.
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ayah 211
It is not in their interests, nor in their power.
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ ayah 212
They are barred from hearing.
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ ayah 213
So do not pray to another god with Allah, else you will be of those tormented.
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ayah 214
And warn your close relatives.
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ayah 215
And lower your wing to those of the believers who follow you.
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ayah 216
And if they disobey you, say, “I am innocent of what you do.”
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ayah 217
And put your trust in the Almighty, the Merciful.
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ayah 218
He Who sees you when you rise.
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ ayah 219
And your devotions amidst the worshipers.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ayah 220
He is indeed the Hearer, the Aware.
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ayah 221
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ ayah 222
They descend upon every sinful liar.
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ ayah 223
They give ear, and most of them are liars.
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ayah 224
And as for the poets—the deviators follow them.
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ ayah 225
Do you not see how they ramble in every style?
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ ayah 226
And how they say what they do not do?
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ ayah 227
Except for those who believe, and do good deeds, and remember Allah frequently, and defend themselves after they are wronged. As for those who do wrong, they will know by what overturning they will be overturned.
