Surat al-Muminoon · The Believers

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. Juz 18 begins here
2. 1p. 342

   قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۝١ayah 1

   Successful are the believers.

3. 2

   ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَـٰشِعُونَ ۝٢ayah 2

   Those who are humble in their prayers.

4. 3

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ ۝٣ayah 3

   Those who avoid nonsense.

5. 4

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَـٰعِلُونَ ۝٤ayah 4

   Those who work for charity.

6. 5

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَـٰفِظُونَ ۝٥ayah 5

   Those who safeguard their chastity.

7. 6

   إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ ۝٦ayah 6

   Except from their spouses, or their dependents—for then they are free from blame.

8. 7

   فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ ۝٧ayah 7

   But whoever seeks anything beyond that—these are the transgressors.

9. 8

   وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ ۝٨ayah 8

   Those who are faithful to their trusts and pledges.

10. 9

    وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ ۝٩ayah 9

    Those who safeguard their prayers.

11. 10

    أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ ۝١٠ayah 10

    These are the inheritors.

12. 11

    ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١١ayah 11

    Who will inherit Paradise, wherein they will dwell forever.

13. 12

    وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن سُلَـٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ ۝١٢ayah 12

    We created man from an extract of clay.

14. 13

    ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ ۝١٣ayah 13

    Then We made him a seed, in a secure repository.

15. 14

    ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَـٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَـٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ ۝١٤ayah 14

    Then We developed the seed into a clot. Then We developed the clot into a lump. Then We developed the lump into bones. Then We clothed the bones with flesh. Then We produced it into another creature. Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators.

16. 15

    ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ ۝١٥ayah 15

    Then, after that, you will die.

17. 16

    ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ ۝١٦ayah 16

    Then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will be resurrected.

18. 17

    وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَـٰفِلِينَ ۝١٧ayah 17

    We created above you seven pathways, and We are never heedless of the creation.

19. 18p. 343

    وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّـٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝١٨ayah 18

    And We sent down water from the sky in proper quantity, and settled it in the ground, and We are Able to take it away.

20. 19

    فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَـٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ ۝١٩ayah 19

    With it We produce for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat.

21. 20

    وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْـَٔاكِلِينَ ۝٢٠ayah 20

    And a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, producing oil, and seasoning for those who eat.

22. 21

    وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَـٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ ۝٢١ayah 21

    And there is a lesson for you in livestock: We give you to drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many benefits in them, and from them you eat.

23. 22

    وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ ۝٢٢ayah 22

    And on them, and on the ships, you are transported.

24. 23

    وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٢٣ayah 23

    We sent Noah to his people. He said, “O my people, worship Allah, you have no deity other than Him. Will you not take heed?”

25. 24

    فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَـٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝٢٤ayah 24

    But the notables of his people, who disbelieved, said, “This is nothing but a human like you, who wants to gain superiority over you. Had Allah willed, He would have sent down angels. We never heard of this from our forefathers of old.

26. 25

    إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ۝٢٥ayah 25

    He is nothing but a man possessed. Just ignore him for a while.”

27. 26

    قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ ۝٢٦ayah 26

    He said, “My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me.”

28. 27

    فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ ۙ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَـٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ ۝٢٧ayah 27

    So We inspired him: “Build the Ark under Our observation and by Our inspiration. And when Our decree comes to pass, and the oven boils over, load into it two pairs of every kind, together with your family, except those of them against whom the word has already been pronounced. And do not speak to me concerning those who did wrong; for they are to be drowned.”

29. 28p. 344

    فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ۝٢٨ayah 28

    Then, when you and those with you are settled in the Ark, say, “Praise be to Allah, who has saved us from the wrongdoing people.”

30. 29

    وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ ۝٢٩ayah 29

    And say, “My Lord, land me with a blessed landing, as you are the best of transporters.”

31. 30

    إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ ۝٣٠ayah 30

    Surely in that are signs. We are always testing.

32. 31

    ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ ۝٣١ayah 31

    Then, after them, We established another generation.

33. 32

    فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٣٢ayah 32

    And We sent among them a messenger from themselves: “Serve Allah. You have no god other than Him. Will you not be cautious?”

34. 33

    وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ ۝٣٣ayah 33

    But the dignitaries of his people, those who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and We had indulged them in the present life, said, “This is nothing but a human like you; he eats what you eat, and he drinks what you drink.

35. 34

    وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ ۝٣٤ayah 34

    If you obey a human being like yourselves, then you will be losers.

36. 35

    أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ ۝٣٥ayah 35

    Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones, you will be brought out?

37. 36

    ۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ ۝٣٦ayah 36

    Farfetched, farfetched is what you are promised.

38. 37

    إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ ۝٣٧ayah 37

    There is nothing but our life in this world. We die, and we live, and we are not resurrected.

39. 38

    إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝٣٨ayah 38

    He is nothing but a man, making up lies about Allah. We have no faith in him.”

40. 39

    قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ ۝٣٩ayah 39

    He said, “My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me.”

41. 40

    قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَـٰدِمِينَ ۝٤٠ayah 40

    He said, “Soon they will be filled with regret.”

42. 41

    فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ غُثَآءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ۝٤١ayah 41

    Then the Blast struck them, justifiably, and We turned them into scum. So away with the wicked people.

43. 42

    ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ ۝٤٢ayah 42

    Then, after them, We raised other generations.

44. 43p. 345

    مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ ۝٤٣ayah 43

    No nation can advance its time, nor can they postpone it.

45. 44

    ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ ۝٤٤ayah 44

    Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time a messenger came to his community, they called him a liar. So We made them follow one another, and made them history. So away with a people who do not believe.

46. 45

    ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ ۝٤٥ayah 45

    Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our signs and a clear authority.

47. 46

    إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ ۝٤٦ayah 46

    To Pharaoh and his nobles, but they turned arrogant. They were oppressive people.

48. 47

    فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَـٰبِدُونَ ۝٤٧ayah 47

    They said, “Are we to believe in two mortals like us, and their people are our slaves?”

49. 48

    فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ ۝٤٨ayah 48

    So they called them liars, and thus were among those destroyed.

50. 49

    وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ ۝٤٩ayah 49

    And We gave Moses the Scripture, that they may be guided.

51. 50

    وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ ۝٥٠ayah 50

    And We made Mary’s son and his mother a sign, and We sheltered them on high ground with security and flowing springs.

52. 51

    يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَـٰلِحًا ۖ إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ ۝٥١ayah 51

    O messengers, eat of the good things, and act with integrity. I am aware of what you do.

53. 52

    وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ ۝٥٢ayah 52

    This nation of yours is one nation, and I am your Lord, so fear Me.

54. 53

    فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ ۝٥٣ayah 53

    But they tore themselves into sects; each party happy with what they have.

55. 54

    فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ۝٥٤ayah 54

    So leave them in their bewilderment until a time.

56. 55

    أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ ۝٥٥ayah 55

    Do they assume that, in furnishing them with wealth and children.

57. 56

    نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ ۝٥٦ayah 56

    We race to give them the good things? In fact, they have no idea.

58. 57

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ ۝٥٧ayah 57

    Those who, from awe of their Lord, are fearful.

59. 58

    وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ ۝٥٨ayah 58

    And those who believe in their Lord’s Verses.

60. 59

    وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ ۝٥٩ayah 59

    And those who associate no partners with their Lord.

61. 60p. 346

    وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ ۝٦٠ayah 60

    And those who give what they give, while their hearts quake, knowing that to their Lord they will return.

62. 61

    أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَـٰبِقُونَ ۝٦١ayah 61

    It is they who race towards goodness. It is they who will reach it first.

63. 62

    وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَـٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ۝٦٢ayah 62

    We never burden any soul beyond its capacity. And with Us is a record that tells the truth, and they will not be wronged.

64. 63

    بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَـٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَـٰمِلُونَ ۝٦٣ayah 63

    But their hearts are puzzled because of this; and they have deeds that do not conform to this, which they continue to perpetrate.

65. 64

    حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ ۝٦٤ayah 64

    Until, when We seize the decadent among them with torment, they begin to groan.

66. 65

    لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ ۝٦٥ayah 65

    Do not groan today. You will receive no help from Us.

67. 66

    قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ ۝٦٦ayah 66

    My Verses were recited to you, but you turned back on your heels.

68. 67

    مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَـٰمِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ ۝٦٧ayah 67

    Arrogant towards it—talked nonsense about it—disregarded it.

69. 68

    أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝٦٨ayah 68

    Have they not pondered the Word? Or has there come to them what came not to their forefathers of old?

70. 69

    أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ۝٦٩ayah 69

    Or is it that they did not recognize their messenger, so they are denying him?

71. 70

    أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ ۚ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَـٰرِهُونَ ۝٧٠ayah 70

    Or do they say, “He is possessed?” In fact, he brought them the truth, but most of them hate the truth.

72. 71

    وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ ۝٧١ayah 71

    If the truth conformed to their desires, the heavens, the earth, and everyone in them would have gone to ruin. In fact, We have given them their message, but they keep avoiding their message.

73. 72

    أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ ۝٧٢ayah 72

    Or are you asking them for a payment? The revenue from your Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers.

74. 73

    وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ۝٧٣ayah 73

    You are inviting them to a straight path.

75. 74

    وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَـٰكِبُونَ ۝٧٤ayah 74

    But those who do not believe in the Hereafter are swerving from the path.

76. 75p. 347

    ۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَـٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ ۝٧٥ayah 75

    Even if We had mercy on them, and relieved their problems, they would still blindly persist in their defiance.

77. 76

    وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ ۝٧٦ayah 76

    We have already gripped them with suffering, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor did they humble themselves.

78. 77

    حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ ۝٧٧ayah 77

    Until, when We have opened before them a gate of intense agony, at once they will despair.

79. 78

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ ۝٧٨ayah 78

    It is He who produced for you the hearing, and the eyesight, and the feelings. But little gratitude you show.

80. 79

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ۝٧٩ayah 79

    And it is He who multiplied you on earth, and to Him you will be gathered.

81. 80

    وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَـٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ۝٨٠ayah 80

    And it is He who gives life and brings death, and to Him is the alternation of night and day. Do you not understand?

82. 81

    بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ۝٨١ayah 81

    But they say the like of what the ancients said.

83. 82

    قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ۝٨٢ayah 82

    They say, “After we have died, and become dust and bones, will we be resurrected?

84. 83

    لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝٨٣ayah 83

    We were promised this before—we and our ancestors—these are nothing but legends of the ancients.”

85. 84

    قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ۝٨٤ayah 84

    Say, “To whom does the earth belong, and everyone in it, if you happen to know?”

86. 85

    سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٨٥ayah 85

    They will say, “To Allah.” Say, “Will you not reflect?”

87. 86

    قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٨٦ayah 86

    Say, “Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Splendid Throne?”

88. 87

    سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٨٧ayah 87

    They will say, “To Allah.” Say, “Will you not become righteous?”

89. 88

    قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ۝٨٨ayah 88

    Say, “In whose hand is the dominion of all things, and He protects and cannot be protected from, if you happen to know?”

90. 89

    سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ ۝٨٩ayah 89

    They will say, “To Allah.” Say, “Then are you bewitched?”

91. 90p. 348

    بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝٩٠ayah 90

    In fact, We have given them the truth, and they are liars.

92. 91

    مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَـٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَـٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ۝٩١ayah 91

    Allah has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to Allah, far beyond what they describe.

93. 92

    عَـٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ۝٩٢ayah 92

    The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate.

94. 93

    قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ ۝٩٣ayah 93

    Say, “My Lord, if You would show me what they are promised.

95. 94

    رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ۝٩٤ayah 94

    My Lord, do not place me among the wicked people.”

96. 95

    وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝٩٥ayah 95

    We are surely Able to show you what We promise them.

97. 96

    ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ ۝٩٦ayah 96

    Repel evil by what is better. We are aware of what they describe.

98. 97

    وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۝٩٧ayah 97

    And say, “My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the urgings of the devils.

99. 98

    وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ ۝٩٨ayah 98

    And I seek refuge with You, my Lord, lest they become present.”

100. 99

     حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرْجِعُونِ ۝٩٩ayah 99

     Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, “My Lord, send me back.

101. 100

     لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَـٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّآ ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ۝١٠٠ayah 100

     That I may do right in what I have neglected.” By no means! It is just a word that he utters. And behind them is a barrier, until the Day they are resurrected.

102. 101

     فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ۝١٠١ayah 101

     When the Horn is blown, no relations between them will exist on that Day, and they will not ask after one another.

103. 102

     فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ ۝١٠٢ayah 102

     Those whose scales are heavy—those are the successful.

104. 103

     وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١٠٣ayah 103

     But those whose scales are light—those are they who have lost their souls; in Hell they will dwell forever.

105. 104

     تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَـٰلِحُونَ ۝١٠٤ayah 104

     The Fire lashes their faces, and therein they grimace.

106. 105p. 349

     أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝١٠٥ayah 105

     “Were not My revelations recited to you, and you kept on rejecting them?”

107. 106

     قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ ۝١٠٦ayah 106

     They will say, “Our Lord, our wretchedness prevailed over us, and we were a people astray.

108. 107

     رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَـٰلِمُونَ ۝١٠٧ayah 107

     Our Lord! Bring us out of this. If we ever returned, we would truly be evil.”

109. 108

     قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ ۝١٠٨ayah 108

     He will say, “Be despised therein, and do not speak to Me.

110. 109

     إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ۝١٠٩ayah 109

     There was a group of My servants who would say, `Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us, and have mercy on us; You are the Best of the merciful.'

111. 110

     فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ ۝١١٠ayah 110

     But you made them a target of ridicule, until they made you forget My remembrance; and you used to laugh at them.

112. 111

     إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ ۝١١١ayah 111

     Today, I have rewarded them for their endurance. They are the ones who are the triumphant.”

113. 112

     قَـٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ ۝١١٢ayah 112

     He will say, “How many years did you remain on earth?”

114. 113

     قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ ۝١١٣ayah 113

     They will say, “We remained a day, or part of a day; but ask those who keep count.”

115. 114

     قَـٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ۝١١٤ayah 114

     He will say, “You remained only for a little while, if you only knew.

116. 115

     أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ ۝١١٥ayah 115

     Did you think that We created you in vain, and that to Us you will not be returned?”

117. 116

     فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ ۝١١٦ayah 116

     So Exalted is Allah, the Ruler, the Real. There is no god except He, the Lord of the Noble Throne.

118. 117

     وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ۝١١٧ayah 117

     Whoever invokes another god besides Allah—he has no proof thereof—his reckoning rests with his Lord. The disbelievers will not succeed.

119. 118

     وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ۝١١٨ayah 118

     And say, “My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of the merciful.”
